Professional Sports Coach
Hi, I’m Phill.
I am a semi-professional rugby player for Fylde RFC and have represented England and Lancashire through my playing career. Through this, I have acquired a vast wealth of knowledge in all professional sports, where I have worked with coaches ranging from grassroots to professional sports coach at the highest levels.
Since competing in sports from such an early age I have always appreciated the importance of teaching and passing on skills in order to allow other people to succeed and enjoy themselves in sport much more. With this, I have followed my passion to teach sport. I have obtained a BA Honors degree in Sports Coaching and have worked for Preston Grasshoppers Community as a Rugby Coach for two years. I am currently Head Coach for the University of Central Lancashire’s rugby union men’s 1xv’s team; playing in the BUCS League. Aside from rugby I also have many other sporting qualifications such as Rounders Level 1 and Football Level 1 and Tag Rugby qualification.
Having a wide range of sporting experience has allowed me to teach sport at primary schools and secondary schools. This has certified me to create coaching sessions tailored for the individual’s age. I enjoy all sports and am very keen on the importance of staying fit and healthy; especially to younger children and love to express this in my coaching sessions; allowing individuals to obtain quality sports performance at every level.
